Native American Scholarship?
Im going to be uncPembrokee the 2 nd half and I'm mixed with African-American (Black) and Native American (Cherokee and Iroquois) im 1.12 Native American heritage should seek an indigenous scholarship. Value of my fathers side of the family (Brown) My great grandmother was full blood Cherokee me 1 / 16 Cherokee and my mother (Jones) my great team Iroquois Native American blood is complete I 1/8……1/16 +1 / 8 = 2 / 24 which equals 1 / 12 to me I'm not sure, but my dads side of my family said that two of my grandparents have married Indian women and had children with them (my grandparents, aunts and uncles). I know that to qualify, or must have at least 1 / 16 of blood and I have not the slightest 1/12vo. I'm not sure if they are on the Dawes list or bakers? My mothers side of Tennessee and Native American records were burned in a fire, what should I do ?!!!!????!!!!? THANK YOU PLEASE read your opinion
are not enrolled = no awards from the American Indian tribe, not the government. if you are a citizen of the nation, are not eligible. Baker and Dawes functions are well preserved. recordings of history destroyed in a fire is a common excuse used by people who can not find proof of his allegations. and as an FYI … there is no "Tribe" called Iroquois.
