I can’t seem to find any applicable scholarships for college, help?

Okay, so I seem to be having a little trouble here. I need a scholarship (or more if possible) to go to college. I’m trying to go out of state (as I, personally don’t feel our colleges here are really all that great) and therefore need to come up with a lot of money I just don’t have. As of now, I’m a junior in high school (it’s the beginning of second semester, if that matters), I go to a public school (and all scholarships offered there are only useable in state), I am white, female, and I have a two parent household. I have an older sister in college who is still a dependent of my parents, and a younger brother (he’s 8, if it matters), my father is in the military and he has retired once and is serving in Iraq, my mother is unemployed, and we are supporting my grandmother as well. I was raised as a member of a Baptist church, though personally I feel more non-donominational (basically I’m Protestant, as is the rest of my family). I have about a 3.5 GPA (on the 4.0 scale) and am taking a couple of AP courses (as I will be doing next year). I’m planning on majoring in psychology and I would like to go to the University of Tennessee: Knoxville and I am only fluent in Enlgish though I have taken both French and Spanish for the majority of my short life. I don’t have and never have had (do to strict parents) a job. My mother did not go to college and my father went for, I believe, a year and a half before he dropped out to get married (oh, and he’s in the army). I have tried to do searches but all I’ve come up with is minority scholarships, air force scholarships (totally didn’t know there were so many), and catholic scholarships. I’d really like some help, so any scholarships you know of, no matter how far fetched, are welcome. Thanks!

  1. have you tried fastweb.com??

  2. Talk to the people at your high school who deal with scholarships and see if they know of anything that can be used out of state.
Also contact some of the financial offices of local colleges and see what scholarship resources they have and see if they have stuff that can be used out of state.
Contact the school you want to go to and talk to the financial aid/scholarship office and see what they have.
Also just start doing websearches for scholarships or try online scholarship websites like
    http://www.schoolsoup.com
    http://www.scholarships.com
    http://www.fastweb.com
    http://www.petersons.com

Also apply for grants and financial through the fafsa http://www.fafsa.ed.gov
