Penn State President Graham B. Spanier delivered his 2009 State of the University Address in video format to the University’s Board of Trustees beginning at 10:15 am Friday, Sept. 11. The video portrait will give you a glimpse of some of the ways Penn State is changing the world through research, scholarship, and service. This video also will be shown on To the Best of My Knowledge on WPSU-TV and PCN on Sept. 15 at 8 pm and the Big Ten Network on Sept. 23 at 9:30 am and 3:30 pm and Sept. 24 at 3:30 am This is the fourth year Dr. Spanier has used the video format for his annual report in an effort to broaden the reach of his State of the University Address. Over the last three years, the video versions have had unprecedented audiences, reaching hundreds of thousands of viewers through the Web site, dvds, podcasts, and cable television.

I liked the part about the SC&IS Department heading the Marine Logistics Education Program, and Mr. Coyle hit on exactly the topic on which I wrote my Honors Thesis this past year.
As a current student of the university, it gives me great pride to know that I am part of something big in making the world a better place on all levels imaginable. Contributing to such cause as THON chair on my campus means the world to me.
