Final question for a while about scholarships.?

Do women have it easier getting a scholarship than guys do? I mean to say, are there more scholarships for women than there are for men?

Doing a google search, I found 2 scholarships open to specifically males, 1 of which was for gymnastics, the other was from a religious organization. (only looked at front page)

Did the same thing for women’s scholarships and found 6 on the front page, 1 of the six was a page for specifically women’s scholarships.

Finally I close with this

So, are there more scholarships for MAINLY women than there are for men?
Holly: I loved the nice fact that being twoards the top of my class at in HS, I recieved a few educational scholarships.

  1. Hey look, an actual double standard for once….

Not a Tracey/Other user – I heard a story from a friend and will draw blanket statements from it.

  2. Uh…athletic scholarships are numerous, and primarily given to men. So no…I suspect it’s incorrect that more women are given scholarships than men.

  3. Who cares anyways, I know I don’t. :)
Blah blah men get this, blah blah woman get this.
What about kittens? Why don’t we ever talk about the rights they have?

  4. Yes there are. I found a couple that were for male nurses…I put them on your other question. But even when I googled “male only scholarships” I got scholarships for women.

I’m basically going to college for free…but thats because I am going to a community college, get good grades and am taking advantage of the Hope and Pell Grants (which are available to everyone). I wouldnt even apply for a scholarship that is just for women because I dont think anyone deserves special privileges just for being born a woman or an ethnic minority.
