Meet Manuela

Roots and Wings International promotes elementary through university education in rural Guatemala. We work with indigenous youth whose families earn $2 per day growing coffee. All of our programs are designed to promote university level studies. Manuela is one of the first women in her region to study at the university level. She is currently studying social work at the Mesoamericana University near her village. When she graduates she wants to start a program to counsel and encourage young women to pursue a formal education.
